This Privacy Policy applies to the www.codemitra.org and Codemitra App
Pi Jam Foundation (https://www.thepijam.org/) is a Non-Profit Organization (Section-8 under
Indian Companies Act 2013) established in September 2017.We aim to equip children and
educators of India with access to affordable technology and enhanced quality of Computer
Science education.
www.codemitra.org (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how your personal and other information is collected, used and disclosed by
www.codemitra.org.

This Privacy Policy applies to our website, and its associated subdomains (collectively, our
“Service”) alongside our application, www.codemitra.org. By accessing or using our Service,
you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to our collection, storage, use, and
disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of
Service.

Our Privacy Policy is fuelled by our commitment to the following Privacy Principles:
1. We’re deeply committed to creating a safe and secure online environment for
all of our users.
2. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. We strive to protect the information you give us very seriously.
4. We take extra precautions for our youngest learners. Specifically, we have
designed the website & app registration process to minimize the collection and
use of personally identifiable information.
5. We do not display advertising on www.codemitra.org. Our mission is to
provide you with a better learning experience, not to sell you products.

1. What information do we collect?
Contact information. We might collect your name, age, grade(class), gender, email, mobile
number, demographic location, time zone, photo uploaded, Address, pincode, state, country.

App usage information we collect when you use the App. We collect information about
how you use the App, such as the features you use and the time spent on the App. We
associate this information with an internal account ID we assign to you for our internal
purposes, including, for example, to help us recognize you across devices you use to access
the App and personalize your experience based on your last App use. We may also collect
other information from your device(s) or from the app store through which you downloaded
the Codemitra app. This includes information of additional devices linked to your account,
including any device(s)your child uses to access Codemitra App. For example, we may
collect information about the device(s) you, and the children accessing our App through your
account, use to access the App (e.g., mobile carrier, device type, model and manufacturer,
mobile device operating system brand and model, preferred language). We may collect
analytics data to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the App and to understand
more about the demographics of our users. We use this information to customize the
function and appearance of the App based on information related to your account (e.g., the
age of your child and your device settings).

Information you post. We collect information you post in a public space on our website or
on a third-party social media site belonging to www.codemitra.org and
https://www.thepijam.org

Geo Location Information We may request access or permission to and track
location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are
using the App, to provide location-based services.

Other Information If you use our website, we may collect information about your IP address
and the browser you’re using. If you choose to establish an account so you may access the
App across various devices, we will collect your password. We may collect additional
information from you if you contact our technical support team, send us an email, complete a
user survey, or otherwise communicate with us.

2. How we use the information we collect
We use the data we collect to provide you with a better experience and fulfil our mission of
providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient,
and customized experience.

We use the information we collect to:

· Operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features of our
App/Website.
· Personalize your experience while using the App/Website, including on various
devices you use to access the App. For instance, we may remember your
recent activity so we can recommend the most appropriate curriculum and
content for you on your next visit.
· Communicate with you about your account and account activity (such as
child’s progress) and to respond to inquiries. From time to time, we may also
use your information to send you emails about Codemitra and our other
websites and services that may be of interest to you.
· Understand and analyse the usage trends, behaviours, and preferences of our
users, to improve the way the App works and looks, and to develop new
features and functionality.
· Maintain, develop, support, and improve our App and other educational
products and services.
· Notify you of updates to the App or Site
· Request feedback and contact you about your use of the App

3. How we share or transfer data to others
We care deeply about the privacy of our users. We do not rent or sell your personal
information to third parties for their own purposes without your consent. We share or
disclose your personal information only as needed to provide our service and in the following
circumstances:

· Vendors and Service Providers. We may share information with our trusted
vendors, third party service providers, and individuals to provide services or
products for us or on our behalf, which may include hosting, email delivery,
and business administration or professional services (e.g., legal advisors,
accountants). When we share personal information with third party service
providers or vendors, these third parties are contractually obligated to maintain
the security and confidentiality of that personal information.
· Aggregate or de-identified information. We may share information in
aggregated and/or anonymous form that cannot reasonably be used to identify
any individual.
· Merger or Sale. If we become involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy,
change of control, or any form of sale of some or all of our assets, your
personal information may be transferred or disclosed in connection with the
business transaction. In such an event, we will make efforts to require the new
owner to abide by the terms of this Privacy Policy or to provide notice before

your personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different
privacy policy.
· Other. We may disclose personal information if we have a good faith belief that
such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law,
regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request; (b) enforce
applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations
thereof; (c) detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud, security or technical
issues; (d) protect the rights, property, or personal safety of Khan Academy,
our users or the public; or (e) as required or permitted by law.

4. How do we protect Children’s Privacy?
Children of 8-16 Years should use our app with the consent and oversight of a parent or
Guardian or by a teacher or school. An adult with a verified email address must download
the App and create an account before permitting a child to use the App.
5. Links to other sites
The App may link to and may be linked by websites operated by other entities or individuals.
Some of these websites, such as the thepijam Facebook page/Instagram etc. , may be
co-branded with our name or logo. This Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot
always control the activities of, such other third-party websites. You should consult the
respective privacy policies of those third-party websites. The App may contain links to
third-party websites and applications of interest, including advertisements and external
services, that are not affiliated with us. Once you have used these links to leave the App,
any information you provide to these third parties is not covered by this Privacy Policy, and
we cannot guarantee the safety and privacy of your information. Before visiting and providing
any information to any third-party websites, you should inform yourself of the privacy policies
and practices (if any) of the third party responsible for that website, and should take those
steps necessary to, in your discretion, protect the privacy of your information. We are not
responsible for the content or privacy and security practices and policies of any third parties,
including other sites, services or applications that may be linked to or from the App. You
should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in
question.
6. Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, and other tracking technologies on the
App to help customize the App and improve your experience. We may also partner with
selected third-party vendors, such as Google Analytics, Facebook Business Manager, to
allow tracking technologies and remarketing services on the App through the use of first
party cookies and third-party cookies, to, among other things, analyse and track users’ use
of the App, determine the popularity of certain content, and better understand online activity.
By accessing the App or our Site, you consent to the collection and use of your information
by these third-party vendors. You are encouraged to review their privacy policy and contact
them directly for responses to your questions. We do not transfer personal information to

these third-party vendors. However, if you do not want any information to be collected and
used by tracking technologies, you can visit the third-party vendor or Network Advertising
Initiative Opt-Out Tool or Digital Advertising Alliance Opt-Out Tool.
7. Deletion of Information
We may not be able to delete information in all instances, such as information retained in
technical support logs and other business records. We may retain information which has
been de-identified or disassociated with personal identifiers such that it can no longer be
used to reasonably identify a particular individual. We will retain your information for as long
as your account is active or as is reasonably useful for operational purposes. For example,
we may retain certain data as necessary to prevent fraud or future abuse, for recordkeeping
or other legitimate business purposes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations,
enforce our Terms of Use or if required by law. We may also retain information which has
been de-identified or aggregated such that it can no longer reasonably identify a particular
individual. All retained personal information will remain subject to the terms of this Privacy
Policy. We also may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the
change would violate any law or legal requirement, or cause the information to be incorrect.
8. Media
We may also request access to your device’s photo roll or camera in order for us to upload
your media to the App. Any media uploaded in this fashion, will be collected and stored
safely.
9. Push Notifications
We may send you push notifications regarding your account or the App.
10. Security Of Your Information
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your
personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal
information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures
are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against
any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to
interception and misuse by unauthorized parties. Therefore, we cannot guarantee complete
security if you provide personal information.

11. Families Policy Requirements

Under the Families Policy Requirements, we as Codemitra developers comply with the following requirements.

    1. App content:  Codemitra’s content that is accessible to children is appropriate for children. 
    2. App functionality:  Codemitra does not merely provide a webview of a website or have a primary purpose of driving affiliate traffic to a website, regardless of ownership of the website. 
    3. Play Console answers:  We have answered the questions in the Play Console regarding our app a such as:
      • Codemitra’s  users cannot interact or exchange information.
      • Codemita does not share user-provided information with third parties.
      • Codemitra does not share the user’s physical location with other users.
    4. Ads: Codemitra does not show ads to children or to users of unknown age.
    5. Data practices: Codemitra discloses the collection of any personal and sensitive information from children in the app.
      • Codemitra does  not transmit Android advertising identifiers (AAID), SIM Serial, Build Serial, BSSID, MAC, SSID, IMEI, and/or IMSI.
      • Codemitra does  not transmit AAID, SIM Serial, Build Serial, BSSID, MAC, SSID, IMEI, and/or IMSI from children or users of unknown age.
      • Codemitra does not request Device phone number from TelephonyManager of the Android API.
      • Codemitra does not request location permission, or collect, use, and transmit precise location.
      • Codemitra does not request  Bluetooth Permissions .
    6. APIs and SDKs: We have ensured that Codemitra properly implements all APIs and SDKs.
      • Codemitra does not contain any APIs or SDKs that are not approved for use in primarily child-directed services. This includes, Google Sign-In (or any other Google API Service that accesses data associated with a Google Account), Google Play Games Services, and any other API Service using OAuth technology for authentication and authorization.
      • Codemitra does not  implement APIs or SDKs that are not approved for use in child-directed services unless they are used behind a neutral age screen or implemented in a way that does not result in the collection of data from children. Codemitra does not require users to sign-in or access app content through an API or SDK that is not approved for use in child-directed services. 
    7. Augmented Reality (AR): Codemitra does not use Augmented Reality. 
    8. Social Apps & Features: Codemitra does not allow users to share or exchange information on any social and third party apps.
    9. Legal compliance: Codemitra ensures that the app, including any APIs or SDKs that Codemitra app calls or uses, is compliant with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA), E.U. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and any other applicable laws or regulations.

  • Permissions : We may ask for file storage permissions from the users to be able to access files such as text, doc ,PDF and files necessary to access features of the virtual laboratory in the app.

By using our site or app, you consent to our privacy policy.
13. Changes and updates to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was last updated on 01.12.2021. We may modify or revise this Privacy
Policy from time to time and will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting
the revised Privacy Policy with an updated date of revision on our website. Your continued
use of the App following the effective date of such update constitutes your acceptance of the
revised Policy.
14. Jurisdiction

If you choose to visit the website/use our app, your visit/use and any dispute over privacy is
subject to this Policy and the website’s/App terms of use. In addition to the foregoing, any
disputes arising under this Policy shall be governed by the laws of India (Pune,Maharashtra).
